  Use a good quality bar and chain oil. Bar and chain oil are formulated so that the oil adheres to the chain and bar to provide maximum lubrication.
  DO NOT use motor oil!

  in an electric chain saw you use regular motor oil
  like SAE 10 w 30
  I just got one- they work freakin great!
  Its the pull-start chainsaws that take chain oil
