4 Responses to “How Often Do You Have To Put The Bar Chain Oil In To Electric Chain Saws?”
WOW wood tick where do you live ? oil a qt here is $1.57
you can buy a gal of bar chain oil at most rural kings for $4.00
or save your old oil use it, any oil will work in the electric,
i use 2 of them and i use any oil i have around,
I keep mine 1/2 full works better, plus i pour oil on the chain once in a while
You fill the reservoir when it’s empty. With an electric, you have to be mindful of that. A quart costs about $3-4 depending on where you get it. Hope this helps.
Stupidly I got a quart at the Stihl dealer today when I bought a new chain. I know it’s cheaper at HD, but I was there…..
It depends on the saw. Just fill it up before each use. Then if its a big job check it again after using the saw for awhile. If there is no fill indicator just fill it all the way up to the top of the fill opening.
It only cost a couple of dollars a quart. Just buy the cheap stuff.
a couple of quarts should get you through a full day of sawing.
most times it will sound differencewhen it run out but if you done run it that much you could hold it close to some thing an. rib it up an there will oil appear as the chain turns fast .Bar oil for chain saw isn’t that much not at wal=mart a gal. is about 3 dollars
